Whatever label you care to apply, it’s all deeply personal and, as directed by Glendele Way-Agle and played by a solid cast, frank and honest.
The evening is equal parts lecture, social and political message, stand-up comedy and confessional. Their tales cover first menstruation, dating, childbirth, bonding with other women and various examples of misogyny, as each woman describes her relations with boyfriends, husbands, moms, doctors and one another. Forget too, if you can, the glib, one-joke concept of shows like “Menopause: The Musical.” Ensler skillfully weaves together the stories of dozens of women of all ages, represented by a cast of 10 women.
